Peter Hook & Kevin Cummins In Conversation
Manchester Photographic Gallery ~ Thursday 23rd February
Long term friends, colleagues and professional rivals over the controversial subject of photographers and artists copyright, legendary Joy Division bassist Peter Hook and the legendary photographer who made his name snapping the band in their early days, Kevin Cummins come together for one of their infamous face offs as they converse about Joy Division, how they met, the music and Kev’s iconic photography which surrounds the band.
Following great interest and attendance, Kevin Cummins' exhibition Exemplar: Joy Division has been recently been extended until the end of March at the Manchester Photographic Gallery and the event will be taking place at its new location on Tariff Street, on Thursday 23rd February 7pm-9pm compered by writer Kevin Sampson.
Tickets are available for £5 each (follow this link if you are interested - http://bit.ly/xpOQc4) the event is limited to 100 tickets , which will be deducted from the price of any books, art or postcards bought. The gallery will be making a donation to the UK’s leading mental health charity, MIND ~ as requested by Peter Hook.
Peter Hook And The Light “Unknown Pleasures / Closer”
Buxton Opera House Saturday 25th February
The Saturday following the talk sees Peter Hook and The Light with guest vocalist Rowetta perform their first North West concert of 2012 performing both “Unknown Pleasures” and “Closer” to close the Four Four Time Festival at Buxton Opera House on Saturday 25th February, one of the North West’s finest and most prestigious theatre venues.
The band are performing both Joy Division albums for only the third time together in the same concert following two sold out Lowry Salford dates last November. To accommodate audience requests, the Buxton concert will start shortly after 730pm and finish at1030pm allowing attendees to catch the final Buxton to Manchester train.
