Casuals Live

Vivid Riot and Cass Pennant present a truly unique night dedicated to football casual culture and music. This very special night is headlined by Sheffield’s Section 60. Also on this impressive bill are Stoke’s The Blue Collars, Reading’s Violet Class and Southend’s Plastic Youth. Award Winning author and film director Cass Pennant will compere the evening, whilst DJ Dan Nolan will spin a host of new and old musical classics related to the casual scene.
Casuals Live is the first event of its kind and caters for an audience that is diverse and active when it comes to music, fashion and football culture. The bands on the night mix youthful independent musical passion with mod (ernist) sensibilities, whilst looking very sharp at all times
Praise and hype for the artists featured on the night have reached far and wide. Nick Macabe (The Verve) Produced Plastic Youth’s first single and the band are signed to Gary Powell’s (The Libertines) record label. Violet Class also have impressive plaudits including Stephen Street (producer The Smiths Blur and The Courteneers). The Blue Collars have had mountains of internet press and radio play. Headliners Section 60 can reveal in the fact that they have Reverend and The Makers and Liam Gallagher as fans (The band have been invited to play Gallagher’s Pretty Green store). ITunes described Section 60’s debut album as, “Got to be heard.”

Vivid Riot has gained mass online popularity with a music blog that reviews, interviews and features the best in new independent music. Their ‘Football Casual Podcasts’ have gained thousands of listeners with a diverse mix of music, making Vivid Riot “The music site that doesn’t f**k about”
Cass Pennant’s name is known worldwide as an author who specializes in football culture writing. Cass has published numerous best-selling books and has also had an eponymous film made about his life which gained critical acclaim.
