King Krule- The Noose of Jah City
King Krule- The Noose of Jah City by truepanther
King Krule, formerly known as Zoo Kid, shows us what all the hype is about with this teaser track for the forthcoming self titled EP released on 7th November. 'The Noose of Jah City' sees King Krule's lead singer Archy Marshall's distinctive vocals flow over a simple beat with delayed guitar gliding over the top. Anyone in Glasgow (Captain's Rest 11th November) Manchester (Trof 12th), Brighton (Prince Albert 14th) and London (Corsica Studios 15th) get down to see them.

Anyone in the market for some football boots, check out these by Pantofola d'Oro. Ever since Emidio Lazzarini contacted his local football team, Ascoli Calcio in the 1950s, and started making the boots for the players, Pantofola d'Oro has been producing some of the nicest boots around. Simple and plain, yet original, the boots have a light softness allowing easier ball control. The name itself means 'Golden Slipper', which stuck after the legendary Juventus player, John Charles said ' these aren't boots, they're slippers - golden slippers'. Other notable players to don the 'golden slippers' are Fabio Capello, Roberto Mancini, Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten and Jack Matthews. In a time when boots to often come with crazy colours, and needless gimmicks, the Pantofola d'Oro shows that often simple equals the best.

The Stone Roses Reunion
This isn't exactly new news (it has been all over the internet since it was announced this morning), but it's still worth talking about because it is so massive. I was only 6 when the Roses split up, and only got into there music some years later. I have seen Ian Brown, I have seen Mani play with Primal Scream, and thats as close as I thought I would get. Until now. Despite years when all of the members denied rigorously that this moment would ever happen (Mani once said they would 'reform when Manchester City won the European Cup'), the moment came this morning in a London hotel. People talk of money, which is probably a factor, but you do get the feeling the Roses never got to fulfil the potential they clearly had, plagued by internal fighting and conflict with their record label, which explains why there has always been such longing for a reunion. Well now it is here, and Heaton Park, Manchester on the 29th and 30th of June 2012 will be the place to be.

My Teeth by BBATBC
Following the Ley Lines Festival, we thought it be sweet to put up a track from Oxford band Beta Blocker and the Body Clock, after their great show. All those in Oxford, get to their gig with Kill Murray (hopefully have some of their tunes on here in the near future), at the Bullingdon on the 28th of October.

Warehouse Project- Last Store Street Shows.
This year sees the final warehouse projects in the store street location, and Keep It Casual wanted to pay tribute to the amazing venue. Located under Piccadilly train station, the night offers a music experience like no other. If you haven't been, we recommend picking up tickets for the various nights left. Personal favourite lineup is the Modeselktor date on the 6th of December, which sees them lineup next to Squarepusher, Four Tet Skream and Hudson Mohawke to name a few.

LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED and WALES VS FRANCE
Tomorrow sees the start to another big weekend of sport. Starting off with Wales vs France, the rugby world cup semi finals begins and we are certainly in for a treat. After France some how put behind their group stage woes to pull off and inspired win against England last week, and Wales put in a very impressive performance against Ireland, it has a left a semi that is extremely hard to call. However, with there new youthful team, brilliantly led by Sam Warburton ( who of course went off injured in the 28-9 Six nations defeat), Keep It Casual is backing Wales to come through and represent a home nation in the final. This is of course followed by the Liverpool vs Manchester United game, a match which Sir Alex labelled today as the 'biggest game of the season in English football', which we very much agree with. Will Wayne Rooney be mentally fit following his three match England ban? Will Steven Gerrard start? Will Kenny Dalglish get his tactics spot on like last year? And will Nemanja Vidic return for United? Who knows, but we can't wait to find out. History favours Liverpool in this fixture (they have won the last three), we are going to go for a United win, with Mr. Rooney scoring.
Happy Mondays - Hallelujah (club mix)
Been posting quite a lot of new music, so here is the Hacienda classic Paul Oakenfold remix of the Happy Monday's tune Hallelujah.
Anyone in the market for a new pair of trainers, we recommend the Borg elite. A classic trainer worn by Bjorn Borg in his glory years has recently been reissued by Diadora and they still look as good as they did back then. Although expensive- they cost 90 pounds from most retailers- great deals can be found if you search ebay.

Chairlift - Amanaemonesia
Here is the video for Amanaemonesia from Brooklyn duo Chairlift. Caroline Polachek joins Kate Bush, Beyonce and Thom Yorke, by combining a great song with a great dance routine. The song is a very catchy electro pop teaser for the album 'Something' which is released in January through Young Turks. If you like what you hear, they are playing gigs this November in Manchester (Sound Control, on 02/11/2011) and London (Electrowerkz, 03/11/2011).

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Garden
Track of the day is this little number from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, or more simply TEED, which is the stage name for fellow Oxfordian Orlando Higginbottom. Previously signed to Hot Chip's Joe Goodard's label Greco-Roman, TEED became an internet sensation, releasing EPs Pre History and Household Goods. TEED is now on Polydor, with an album planned for the new year. Check it out, and look out for future tunes.
Vintage Berghaus
Now the Indian summer has unfortunately left us, and Autumn has officially hit us, if you haven't done already, now is the time to pick up a sweet jacket to keep out the wind and rain. Top pick is a vintage Berghaus, like the one seen on the left. Most decent vintage shops will have a few, but your best bet is to search on ebay, where they are to be found in good condition with starting bids of 99p.

Without doubt the best website for Casual Garments is 80s Casual Classics. A website purely dedicated to bringing you vintage Casual gear, sells the finest collection of Fila, Ellesse, Sergio Tacchini, Adidas Originals, Diadora and more, acquired from all over the world. So good is their collection it was chosen by Nick Love to supply the clothes for his films The Business and The Firm. For all those looking for elite sports gear this is the site to go to. KEEP IT CASUAL recommends the limited edition Ellesse polo shirts, Fila Terrinda's and Settanta's and Sergio Tacchini tracksuit tops.
Oi Polloi
http://www.oipolloi.com
If you know Manchester's Northern Quarter then it is highly likely you will know Oi Polloi, one of the finest clothes shops in the UK. Beginning in 2002, it has prided itself on selling 'the holy grail of form and function over fats-fashion and fad,' presenting garments of really quality that always remain relevant. Personal favourites are there collection of Quoddy handmade Deck shoes and Moccasins, and their Belstaff and Barbour Wax Jackets. Check out the website, and if your in Manchester visit the shop, located just off Oldham Street, on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter.
The video for Noel Gallagher's second solo single 'AKA What a Life' was released this week. Following on from the video for 'The Death of You and Me', Russell Brand pops up playing a top hatted eccentric who forces some sort of hallucinogenic onto the waitress who appeared in the video before. The music then begins, as girls drive soft topped cars through the desert, Brand pulls off some interesting dance moves on the road, and Gallagher rescues the waitress at the end from the boot of a car, presumably leading to the next video as they drive off. Have a watch, see what you think.

KEEP IT CASUAL, would like to pay tribute to Bjorn Borg and John Macenroe. Both players of course were the top players of their generations, and two of the greatest tennis players ever to have lived. Moreover, they didn't only bring to the court talent and skill, but some of the best sports wear ever made. Fila Settanta's, Diadora Borg Elite Trainers, Sergio Tacchini Dallas Tracksuit tops, and polo shirts were made iconic by the pair of them, as seen in the picture on the left, and are still favourite items for many now. Not many kept it more casual than these two.

DRC Music - Hallo (featuring Tout Puissant Mukalo and Nelly Liyemge)
This week saw the release of Damon Albarn's latest project: DRC MUSIC. Albarn, and a group of producers, including KWES, T-E-E-D, Dan the Automator, Richard Russell and Rodaidh Macdonald, travelled to the Congo for a week, in which they recorded music with local musicians on behalf of Oxfam. The album itself, which is being released through Warp Records, is pretty incredible as the producers only had 5 days to get the music down. Albarn talking on Radio 4 mentioned that instruments used were all mainly self manufactured, from various pieces of material, brought in by the local musicians, which give the record such a unique sound. Albarn was particularly inspired about this desire to make music, commenting on how he was amazed about the resourcefulness shown by the musicians they met, and how 'if they can't afford it, they will make it'. The albums main purpose of course is to raise money for Oxfam. I personally really admire this approach to raising money for a good cause. Instead of Albarn visiting the Congo and reporting back on reasons why the country desperately needs money, which would have been another justifiable way of raising money, they have worked with the local musicians and produced an album that showcases the amazing music that can be heard in Africa. Above is the first track 'Hallo' on which Albarn sings himself, along with Tout Puissant Mukalo and Nelly Liyemge.
Azealia Banks - L8R
Azealia Banks - L8r.
Female rapper who shows their is hope for female rap, despite Niki Minaj dominating the airwaves.
Key tracks '212' ( described by the Guardian as 'Incredible'), 'L8r', which despite being only 1 minute and 35 seconds long, displays Banks' smooth flow that have led to comparisons to Missy Elliot, 'Runnin' and her cover of Interpol's 'Slow Hands', which demonstrates that she also has a great singing voice.
She definitely 'Keeps it Casual'. Check her out.
